UPDATE from WSOC: “The Wadesboro police chief now says the father of a 13-month-old who died in a Christmas Day accident in Anson County will not be charged with texting while driving. Police say that Alex Hooper only received a text at the time of the crash, not that he sent one. Police cannot confirm that he ever opened the text message. The family tells Eyewitness News that Hooper never opened the message but fell asleep at the wheel. Police have cited Hooper with driving left of center.”
