Charlotte man accused in string of Burlington robberies

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Charlotte man has been accused of five instances of armed robbery stemming from incidents dating back as far as Nov. 25, 2013.

According to police, Saiydiyn Abdullah Muhammad, 49, of Charlotte, is currently in police custody at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh for charges stemming from another incident.

Upon his release, Muhammad will be served with the warrants for five counts of armed robbery.

The charges stem from robberies of Payless Shoes, Dollar General, Sally Beauty Supply, Home Depot and Food Lion in Burlington between Nov. 25, 2013 and Dec. 24, 2013.
