A Virginia waitress is starting the New Year with the biggest tip she’s ever received.

A customer handed Samantha Perez a $500 gratuity while she was working at the Burger Bach in Richmond.

Job site Snagajob matched the amount with another $500, bringing Perez’s total to $1000.

Seth Collins has been leaving $500 tips in honor of his brother Aaron Collins, who died suddenly of cancer in 2012.

“I appreciate it so much,” Perez said. “This is the most insane thing that ever happened to me in my whole life. Oh my God, I can’t stop crying.

Seth Collins, founder of the nonprofit Aaron’s Last Wish, has so far surprised about 100 waiters and waitresses across the U.S. with $500.
