Cold weather shelter open in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Allied Churches of Alamance County is operating a cold weather shelter both Monday and Tuesday due to extreme cold weather.

The shelter, located at 206 N. Fisher St., will be open to provide a warm place to stay for families and individuals who either have no heat or not enough heat in their homes.

Allied Churches asks that everyone bring a blanket or sleeping bag and a photo ID.

Registration is at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. Beds are assigned at 7:30 p.m. Checkout is at 9 a.m.
