Man recovering after overnight shooting in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man is recovering after being shot by an unknown person late Saturday night in Greensboro.

Officers responded to 1307 Blackmoor Road around 11:11 p.m. in reference to a shooting call.

The 18-year-old victim was inside the home suffering from serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

The victim said he had been walking on the street near 2606 Ponderosa Drive when he was confronted by at least two suspects.

The suspects pointed firearms at the victim and began discharging them as he ran away. The victim was struck by one round.

He ran to a nearby house on Blackmoor Road where residents called for police and EMS.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation is still ongoing.
