GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro police delivered food and gifts throughout the city as part of the department’s annual “Operation Yuletide.”

Greensboro police employers and volunteers put together boxes loaded with turkeys, hams and other holiday fixins and delivered wrapped gifts to various families.

This is the third year that the Greensboro Police Department has sponsored the program.

“When they see us coming with those packages all wrapped up, and the food, the smiles and the gratitude, the thank yous, it's overwhelming,” said Officer E.Y. Watkins, who helped organize the event.
