GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After a Greensboro woman had her Christmas decorations stolen, strangers replaced them, giving her home more Christmas cheer than ever.

Marta Force said she had her Christmas decorations stolen off her fence less than a day after she put them up.

“I just couldn't believe anybody in Greensboro would steal,” she said. “There's so many charities, so many wonderful people in Guilford County. Why would you need to steal?”

Force then put a sign up in her front yard as a message to the Grinch who stole her Christmas.

But after she put up the sign, she said people started dropping off giant Christmas ornaments over her fence.

Force said she found a couple boxes when she opened her kitchen door and a couple more after she let her dog out.

“It just made me feel very nice, and as one of the ladies said, that left a card, I hope it puts the Merry back in your Christmas.”

Force said she had so many Christmas decorations; she gave some to a neighbor who also had his decorations stolen.

She said she may never know who gave Christmas back to her house, but is grateful for all the help.

The sign outside her house has since been replaced with a thank you sign.
