CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When the Charlotte Bobcats become the “Hornets” next season, they’ll return with an updated version of the teal-and-purple color scheme.

The Charlotte Observer reported that the team unveiled nine new logos halftime of Saturday’s Jazz-Bobcats game.

The new logos have a slightly fiercer look than the ones Charlotte’s original NBA franchise used. The team also announced that Hugo will return as their mascot.

The Bobcats’ business side collaborated with NBA branding officials and designers brought in from Nike to come up with the new look.

The main logo features a hornet with spread wings and lettering across its body. Others logos include one of the hornet’s side view.
