HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The High Point University women’s soccer team had a gift wrapping party before recently going on Christmas break.

The women were packing shoe boxes full of small gifts as a part of the “Operation Christmas Child” program, which is run by Samaritan’s Purse.

Since 1993, more than 100 million shoe boxes have been sent around the world to bring Christmas to children who wouldn't otherwise have it.

All the soccer players wrote a personal message to each child to go in each box.

The players will scatter to their hometowns this Christmas, but they will no doubt share a moment knowing a child in some far off country opened their presents on Christmas morning.
