CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said they’re investigating after a Charlotte high school student accidentally set another student’s hair on fire, according to WBTV.
Authorities said a 16-year-old male set a female’s hair on fire while playing with a lighter around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday at West Mecklenburg High School.
Officials said the fire was quickly extinguished and no major injuries were reported. Police said the male student has been charged with simple assault. His identity was not released.
