NC Executive Mansion open for Christmas tours

RALEIGH, N.C. — The home to North Carolina’s governors is opening its doors to the public for the Christmas season.

The annual open house at the Executive Mansion started at noon Thursday and will continue until 8 p.m. and into the weekend.

Tours are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Organizers said people who take the tour will get to see decorations and enjoy seasonal musical entertainment by local performers.

The first floor of the mansion will be decorated with Christmas trees grows in the state, floral and mixed evergreen arrangements, a gingerbread hose and mantle displays.

The Executive Mansion has been occupied by the families of 29 governors. Executive Mansion tours are coordinated by the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources.
