HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The script for Fast & Furious 7 is being reworked to allow Paul Walker’s character to leave the series using pre-existing footage, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Filmmakers reportedly want to start filming next month after Walker’s Nov. 30 death in a fiery car wreck has cast doubt upon the series’ future.

It was reported that Universal Studios would proceed with production as planned, though the studio later reversed course and put the movie on hold.

Universal has reportedly invested about $150 million in the movie. About half of Walker’s scenes have already been shot.

“What will drive everything is, is there an honorable and sensible way to do this?” a source told the Hollywood Reporter.
