Greensboro woman struck with hammer during fight

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro woman struck another woman with a hammer during a fight Tuesday night.

Police responded to 3008 Apt. A Lawndale Drive around 8:30 p.m. in reference to a fight.

LaShona Florence, 33, of 1614 Maplewood Lane, was suffering from several wounds and said the suspect struck her head and body with a hammer several times.

Florence was transported to a local medical facility to receive further treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

Rosalind Liz Smith, 33, of 3008 Apt A Lawndale Drive, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Smith is currently being processed at the Guilford County Jail.
