CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting of a volunteer firefighter in Cleveland on Monday, Dec. 2.

According to police, Khari Dewayne McClelland, 23, is in custody in the Newton-Conover area and investigators from Rowan County will pick him up this evening.

Officials said Marcus Kauffman and his wife had just returned from a Thanksgiving trip out of town when they noticed a suspicious car.

Deputies said Kauffman drove his wife to a neighbor’s house and when he returned, he was shot in the back of his head.

Deputies said they are looking for McClelland after they found the suspect vehicle that was involved in the crime.

Officials said they are working to identify another person in connection with the shooting. The suspects were reportedly stealing from the victim.

Another black on white violent crime, the will be hardly noticed. If it where a white on black shooting, there would have been riots in the streets already.

Leave it to an idiot to make it a race thing right off of the bat. Where does it say the victim was white anyway?

If you had read the previous article about this crime they had a picture of the victim this fine upstanding young black man shot. The victim looked very white to me.
…and 1SHOT is right. You have black on white crime every day. I don’t see Jessie and AL get all fired up about that.

Well you could look at the prison system, for every 1,000 white males there is 7,000 black males locked up as of 2012. Profiling? I think not.

just remember this is the same prison system where it was illegal for a black to read or sit in the front of a bus just 50 years ago…..even now if a white man get caught with a ounce of coke he get probation but if a black man get caught with a ounce of crack he gets 10 years!!!!!!!?????!!! think about it!!! its the “just us” system…always has been!
