Winston-Salem man charged with sex offenses

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police have charged a 35-year-old man – a registered sex offender – with one count of sexual battery and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

Ivory Dallas Smith, of the 1200 block of New Hope Lane in Winston-Salem, was arrested on Thursday.

The offense took place July 30, according to a magistrate’s report. The female victim is under age 16, the report said.

Smith was being held in the Forsyth County jail. His court date is set for Dec. 19.
