Man attempts to rob Greensboro bank, police meet him at the door

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro man is charged with attempting to rob the Bank of America on East Bessemer Ave. on Friday morning.

According to witnesses, Devaughn Damar Jones, 33, entered the bank around 9:40 a.m. and passed a note demanding money from the teller.

Jones then exited the bank where he was met by police who took him into custody without incident.

Jones did not obtain any money during the robbery. He has been charged with attempted common law robbery.
