Winston-Salem police investigating shooting, robbery

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting and armed robbery at a residence on Thursday evening.

Officers responded to a home in the 2800-block of Ansonia Street shortly before 9 p.m.

The victim reported that he was standing on the front porch of his home when a suspect approached him with a firearm and demanded money.

The victim struggled with the suspect and was shot in the back during the struggle. The victim was transported to Baptist Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.

This case was referred to the Winston-Salem Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
