SHELBY, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after a bomb found inside a teddy bear was detonated Thursday in Cleveland County, according to WSOC-TV.
Police said a paper carrier found the teddy bear on the side of the road in Lattimore and then took it home to Shelby.
The carrier later found the bear smoking and called officials, according to WSOC. Authorities said the Gastonia Bomb Squad was called to the home and detonated the device.
