BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are investigating an armed robbery Thursday morning at a residence on Fulton Street.

Officers responded to the residence around 9:30 a.m. and the victim said two men entered the home and one produced a handgun and demanded money. They were given an undisclosed amount.

Through further investigation, police determined that as many as five people may have been involved. Two of the suspects have been identified as David Lee Goodman, 27, of Durham, and Christopher Belfield, 24, of Durham.

The suspects fled the scene in a brown 1999 Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows that was reported stolen about 15 minutes prior to the robbery.

The vehicle was later discovered empty at the Red Carpet Inn on Plantation Drive — the same place it was reported stolen from.

An investigation is ongoing.

Hmmm…How do these animals know where to break in? If you broke into my home and demanded money, you would, maybe, get some change. Who has or carries cash?
