FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school bus carrying 10 students sustained minor damage Tuesday when it struck a utility pole, authorities said.

The bus carrying students from Mount Tabor High School was making a right turn from Patterson Avenue onto 30th Street when the bus scraped a utility pole, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Mary College Harris, the bus driver, turned the vehicle too tightly, causing its right upper side to scrape the pole, according to police.

The bus sustained minor damage and remained in service.

Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the incident, police said. No citations were issued.
