STONEVILLE, N.C. — A woman reportedly discovered an unknown person inside their home, according to police.

Around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Carolyn Crews Lester, 75, of Settle Bridge Road, was in her home when she heard a female voice calling out asking if anyone was home. The voice sounded to Lester like it was coming from inside her residence.

When Lester went to investigate, she discovered an unknown Caucasian woman standing by the stairway leading to the second floor.

Lester told the unknown woman to leave her house. The woman walked outside onto the porch and asked Lester what her name was, at which point Lester closed the door.

The unknown woman got into a red compact car and drove away. She was described as having blonde hair, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall with a thin build and having two stud piercings in her lower lip.

The intruder left without taking any items from the residence.

Police ask that anyone who knows this individual or have any further information about this incident or female intruder, contact the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office at 336-634-3232 or Rockingham County Crime Stoppers at 336-349-9683.
