Portion of Friendly Avenue in Greensboro closed Thursday

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A portion of Friendly Avenue in Greensboro will be closed Thursday due to road work.

Crews will begin work around 9 a.m. and Friendly Avenue will be closed from Cannon Road to Starmount Drive for sewerline rehabilitation and road repair work.

Traffic will be detoured in various lanes, no more than one lane at a time, east and west on Friendly Ave.

Detour signs will be in place.

Repair work is expected to be finished Friday.

Dates and times are subject to change due to inclement weather or last-minute changes in work schedules.

Motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate routes to avoid the area. Extended delays should be expected through the work zone.
