WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A major corridor in Winston-Salem could be getting a facelift soon.

The Peters Creek Parkway Community Initiative members are setting up meetings to give locals a voice on what changes they would like to see.

The initiative was formed to attempt to revamp the once thriving area of the city.

One idea which could force a big changes is taking Peters Creek Parkway from six lanes down to four to make it more "pedestrian friendly."

The city has heard complaints regarding the area loud and clear and recognize the importance of the area.

The hope is that Peters Creek Parkway will be revamped not just functionally but visually as well.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at theĀ Ardmore Baptist Church, located atĀ 501 Miller St.
