UNC beats Pittsburgh in 34-27 victory
PITTSBURGH — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill beat the Panthers in a 34-27 victory Saturday in Pittsburgh.
The News & Observer reported that Ryan Switzer, the freshman receiver, rescued the Tar Heels with a 61-yard punt return that gave them the victory at Heinz Field.
Switzer’s return came with about five minutes to play, after UNC had blown a 24-point lead.
The Tar Heels (5-5, 4-3 ACC) are a game away from being bowl eligible after beating Pittsburgh (5-5, 2-4 ACC). UNC hosts Old Dominion next weekend.
