Skeletal remains in Fayetteville identified as missing woman
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police said skeletal remains found earlier this week have been identified as a missing woman, according to WTVD-TV.
The medical examiner’s office said the remains are those of 38-year-old Marcella Anne Thompson, who was reported missing on September 26.
Authorities said a person walking discovered the skull and other bones Tuesday along railroad tracks in the area of Winslow Street and Southern Avenue.
Police said they have recovered the vehicle that Thompson was last known to be driving when she left home.
Detectives said 38-year-old Pierre Rouchant Lowe was driving it, and led police on a chase before crashing.
Police said he ran off and has not been captured. He is not charged in Thompson’s disappearance, but officers said they want to talk to him about it.
Detectives have arrests warrants for Lowe for felony fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer and resisting a law enforcement officer.
Anyone with information the whereabouts of Pierre Lowe can call Detective J. Benazzi at (910) 257-3668 or Detective A. Sinclair at (910) 309-1081.
