GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police said they’re looking for a man in connection to a kidnapping investigation in Greensboro.

UPDATE: Suspect arrested in connection with kidnapping

Police said they responded to the Pop Shoppe Friday morning after concerned co-workers called 911 to report a colleague had not returned to work.

Greensboro police said they responded to the business at 1710 Stanely Road around 11:42 a.m. and 911 received several calls about a possible kidnapping shortly afterwards.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates the woman went missing from the store, went to a nearby wooded area and got help from people at a home who also called authorities.

Police said the woman was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation by emergency workers. Her identity is being withheld while police investigate.

The suspect is described as a medium-skinned black male with light brown eyes and a goatee in his late 20s or early 30s. Police said he is about five-foot-seven to five-foot-eight and weighs between 160 and 170 pounds.

Police said he was last seen wearing a navy blue toboggan, a red coat and blue jeans and was driving a dark blue SUV.
