11634 Old U.S. 52 in Davidson County (GOOGLE)

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A man was injured after he was shot three times by an intruder in his Davidson County home early Friday morning.

Deputies responded to 11634 Old U.S. 52 around 12:14 a.m., where unknown suspects had broken into an apartment and shot a man.

The victim was conscious and alert when officers arrived at the scene.

Witnesses say they heard a loud banging on the door seconds before it was kicked in.

The suspect came face to face with the victim, told him to get on his knees and shot him three times.

The victim was shot in the stomach, the arm and the leg.

His name has not been released.

The victims’s girlfriend, a male relative and two small children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

No one else was injured.

The victim is being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

There were no details on whether anything was taken from the home.

No suspect information is available at this time.
