Statesville woman charged with sexually assaulting child
STATESVILLE, N.C. — Authorities said a Statesville woman has been charged with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.
WBTV reported that 25-year-old Adinah Chanel Morrison was charged with two felony counts of first degree sexual offense with a child.
Detectives said the suspect committed the assaults several years ago. Authorities said the victim described the assault and named the suspect after being interviewed at the Dove House Child Advocacy Center in Statesville.
Morrison was taken into custody on Wednesday and was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing and no other information was immediately available.
