Davidson Co. man shot in head, deputies search for answers

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are asking for information in the shooting death of a 34-year-old man in the Reeds community of Davidson County.

According to the Lexington Dispatch, Frank Ryan Bailey died of a gunshot wound to the head in the 1200 block of Dykers Creek Road, and it has been ruled a homicide.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to Bailey’s apartment duplex about 6 p.m. Nov. 4, where they found Bailey dead inside.

It was reported that a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous said Bailey’s girlfriend, who lived with him, arrived that evening to find him dead in a chair in their apartment.

The Dispatch reported that Bailey’s mother said her son had a seizure disorder, a tumor on his brain and was very sick for years.

The investigation is ongoing.
