Rockefeller Christmas tree arrives in New York

NEW YORK — The 76-foot Norway spruce that will bedazzle the nation during the holiday season has arrived in Rockefeller Center after an overnight journey from Connecticut.

The is the second time in six years the tree has been chosen from the town of Shelton, Conn.

Workers cut the tree down Thursday and a tractor-trailer took it 70 miles to its new midtown home on Friday.

The tree-lighting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The tree will stay up until Jan. 7.
