Two schools in Jamestown locked down briefly following robbery

JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Two schools in Jamestown were locked down briefly Wednesday afternoon while the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office searched for a robbery suspect.

According to the News & Record, Millis Road Elementary and Jamestown Middle were locked down from 12:40 p.m. to about 1 p.m.

A couple told authorities they were robbed by a man at gunpoint while they were standing outside an apartment complex on Yorkleigh Lane around 12:20 p.m.

The suspect ran off with the victim’s iPhone.

Authorities have not located the suspect.
