BusinessInsider.com recently named the 50 best sandwiches in the country, with each state getting its own “best sammie.”

In honor of National Sandwich Day this past Sunday, the website chose the Carolina Burger as the best sandwich North Carolina has to offer.

A variant on the chili burger, the Carolina Burger is a patty with chili con carne, coleslaw, mustard, and chopped onions.

The Barbecue Brisket sandwich was named the “best” in Texas.

What do you think? Would reach for a NC BBQ sandwich? Or a Carolina Burger?

It doesn’t matter which style of NC BBQ you like, there is no doubt the one and only sandwich that we can call our own is the “Chopped Barbeque Sandwich”. Other states slice or pull, but when you talk to people outside of this region they have never heard of chopping the BBQ. It’s ours and only ours.
