STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — An infant girl died on Sunday after she was run over by a trailer being pulled by her father, according to authorities.

Sheriff Mike Marshall said the accident happened around 4 p.m. Sunday at a home on Lakeside Drive in Walnut Cove.

He said the mother placed the baby in her car seat on the ground and ran back into the home to get something. The father was driving a truck pulling a trailer and backed over the baby.

The baby was born Feb. 14, 2013.

No charges will be filed. No alcohol or aggravating factors caused the accident.

That is horrible. I pray that the father will have peace and that he will be able to see his baby girl again in heaven. I could not even imagine what is going through his mind. The hurt and torcher he feels.
