Honda is recalling 344,000 Odyssey minivans because of a problem with sensors.

Officials say the problem can cause the van to apply the brakes on its own.

The recall includes minivans from both the 2007 and 2008 model years. New sensors will need to be installed on the vehicles, but they will not be available until next year.

In the meantime, Honda is asking drivers to start the vans with the wheels facing straight ahead so the system can properly calibrate.

The automaker says the issue has not led to any crashes or injuries.
