Guilford County Sheriff’s Office website recently hacked

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office website was recently hacked, according to The Stokesdale Star. 

When searching for the website on Google, users will see below the link, “This site may be hacked.”

According to the Star, Rick Melton, of the Sheriff’s Office who works on the website, said the site was hosted on GoDaddy has been the target of “backdoor” hacks into the servers. 

Melton told the Star that despite being hacked, the website has been cleaned up. Database servers that include crime statistics and jail inmate information were not affected by the hacking.
