Albemarle store owner killed, suspect on the run

B&G Coins Shop in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — The owner of a coin shop died after a shooting during a robbery in Albemarle on Thursday.

Police identified the store owner as Eldridge Roger Gibson.

According to WSOC, detectives responded to the B&G Coins Shop on West Main Street near Highway 73, but the shooter had taken off with the victim’s white Ford F-150.

Police found Gibson on the floor and he was rushed to Stanly Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The truck taken was a 2010 White Ford F 150 with North Carolina Registration Plate bearing ZRT-3645 and has chrome wheels.
