W-S police search for man who robbed, kidnapped woman at knifepoint

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police said they’re looking for a man accused of getting into a woman’s vehicle and robbing her with a knife.

Police said it happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot at 284 Summit Square Boulevard.

Police said the suspect approached the 29-year-old victim and handed her a religious pamphlet.

Shortly later, the suspect allegedly approached the victim’s vehicle with a knife, opened her driver’s side door and forced his way inside.

The victim was forced to drive to an automatic teller machine and withdraw money, police said.

The suspect eventually got out the vehicle in the 3500 block of North Patterson Avenue.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male around 20-30 years old, about 5’10” to 6” and weighing around 160 to 180 pounds with short hair and a goatee. He was said to be wearing a white shirt, black jacket and blue jeans.
