Several roads in downtown Greensboro closed for marathon Saturday

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Several downtown roads will be closed Saturday morning in preparation for the Greensboro Marathon.

Elm Street between McGee and Washington streets will be closed beginning at 6 a.m.

At 8:45 a.m., traffic will be restricted along the following roads:

    • Davie Street between Washington Street and MLK Drive
    • McGee Street between Elm and Davie streets
    • The northbound lane of Elm Street between Smothers Place and McGee Street
    • The northbound lane of MLK Drive between Gorrell and Arlington streets


Portions of Gorrell Street, Law Street and McConnell Road will also be intermittently closed beginning at 9 a.m. to allow runners to pass.

All roadways are expected to be fully open by 3 p.m.
