GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man was shot as he tried to flee from a robber in Greensboro Thursday night, and police are looking for the suspect.
Police arrived outside 3306 Donnell St., around 9:30 p.m. where they found a man lying on the ground suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The 23-year-old man told police he was walking down the street when he was approached by someone at the intersection of McKnight Mill Road and Martin Avenue.
The suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded money. Instead of handing anything over, the victim fled on foot.
The victim heard a gunshot, but didn’t stop running until he reached Donnell Street where he asked a passerby to call the police.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, stocky build, dark complexion and in his 20s. He was armed with a handgun of unknown type. His direction of travel is not known.
The victim sustained a serious but non life threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
