Man robbed at gunpoint inside Greensboro Buddhist Center

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man told police he was robbed at gunpoint while inside the Greensboro Buddhist Center early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the center at 2715 Liberty Road, Greensboro, around 2:40 a.m. where Somsak Sambib, 58, said he was inside the building when the suspect broke a window and forced his way in.

The suspect then pointed a handgun at the Sambib and demanded money from him. The victim did not have any money on him and was able to escape to another room away from the suspect.

The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction without obtaining any property.

The suspect was described as a white male, average build, wearing all dark clothing. His face was covered by a mask or bandanna. He was armed with an unknown type of handgun.

There were no injuries in this incident.
