Winston-Salem police called after ‘suspicious device’ found
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Anston Street in Winston-Salem was shut down for about an hour on Friday night after authorities said they investigated a suspicious device.
Police said they were called to the Ledges Apartments at 730 Anson St. shortly after 5 p.m.
A maintenance worker found a suspicious item in a vacant apartment and took it to the office, police said.
The Bomb Squad was called and determined that the item was not an explosive device, officials said.
