Man injured in shooting outside Lexington hotel

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Lexington police said a man was hospitalized after being shot early Saturday morning at a hotel parking lot.

Police said the shooting happened at the Triad Inn at 418 Piedmont Drive shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Several fights occurred in the back parking lot and one of them resulted in gunshots being fired, police said.

Police identified the victim as 28-year-old Clurel Lakeith Fuller of Lexington. Police said he suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police said Saturday do not have any suspects. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office assisted in responding to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing and no other details were immediately available.
