Winston-Salem police search for stolen artwork

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are searching for the suspect or suspects who stole a $2,000 piece of artwork from a downtown Winston-Salem building in September.

According to police, “The Mantis King” was stolen on September 28 from a building on N. Trade St., where it was bolted to the wall.

The piece was a part of an exhibit for the Arts For Art’s Sake Group. The lower portion of the piece has been recovered, however, the upper portion is still missing.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 727-2800.
