JAMESTOWN, N.C. — N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will host a meeting about the proposed Piedmont bear hunting season Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at GTCC’s Jamestown campus.

The commission is considering expanding bear hunting limits in some areas in the Piedmont.
Officials say the proposed hunts would lower accidental contact between bears and humans.

A survey from 2005 says 72 percent of people in the Piedmont are in favor of regulated bear hunting.
