Tony Lee Drum, 30, of Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man has been accused of meeting a 14-year-old girl online and forcing her into prostitution, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Authorities said 30-year-old Tony Lee Drum met the minor through an online chat room and picked her up from South Carolina in August.

Police said Drum brought her back to Charlotte and forced her into prostitution.

Police found the victim while she was walking alone and determined she was a missing person, authorities said.

Warrants were obtained for the suspect and he was arrested Tuesday morning. WBTV reported that a second female victim was found in his vehicle.

Drum has been charged with human trafficking of a child; facilitating a minor’s prostitution; supervising, supporting and protecting a minor’s prostitution and attempted human trafficking.

He was placed in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $150,000 bond and has a court appearance planned for Wednesday.
