GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman was assaulted after she decided to give a ride to a man she did not know around 10:30 p.m. Monday night.

Police said the woman picked up Dmarrsaan Foster, 25, and proceeded to drive to a nearby gas station in Greensboro. As they neared the gas station, he ordered her to keep going. When she refused, he struck her in the face and pointed a handgun at her.

A few minutes later, police pulled them over at a Motel 6 on South Regional Road for a minor traffic violation. Both the suspect and victim fled in opposite directions.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the assault. After further investigation, Foster was detained and charged with First degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a felon. Additional charges may be pending.
