Fort Bragg soldier killed in shooting, two suspects on the run

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting at a home in Fayetteville that left a United States Army soldier dead and two suspects on the run Monday night.

According to police, Sean Wayne Wells, 35, of 7277 Beaver Run Drive, Fayetteville, was shot during a disturbance at his home.

Wells was a soldier in the United States Army, assigned to Special Forces at Fort Bragg.

After the shooting, the two suspects fled the scene, stealing the victim’s white 2012 Toyota Camry, which was recovered by police on Tuesday in the area of Rembrandt Drive near Rim Road.
