Virginia Tech beats UNC 27-17

BLACKSBURG, Va. — North Carolina lost to Virginia Tech 27-17 on Saturday at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg.

The News & Observer reported that the Tar Heels played without their starting quarterback, Bryn Renner, who sat out the game after suffering a foot injury during last week’s loss.

The Hokies (5-1, 2-0 ACC) led 14-0 early in the second quarter. Williams led UNC.

The Tar Heels are now 1-4 and 0-2 in ACC play.
