THOMASVILLE, N.C.– Police arrested a teenager they believe is connected with a hit and run accident that left a woman seriously injured.

Police believe Brianna Shea Shirah, 17, was driving on Lexington Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around 1:00 p.m. on Friday when she crossed into the other lane of traffic and hit a pedestrian.

Investigators say she did not stop and left the scene.

A police report says a witness followed Shirah in her car and was able to give her information to Thomasville Police.

Shirah has been taken into custody and charged with a felony hit and run.

Investigators say the victim was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for serious injuries, and is now in stable condition.
