One injured during robbery attempt in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One person was injured during a robbery attempt in Winston-Salem on Monday night.

Officers responded to a reported shooting at 615 W. 13th Street around 7:15 p.m. Monday.

Police said three suspects demanded money from a victim at gunpoint. As a result, the victim was shot during the altercation.

The suspects fled the area, running toward Clark Ave. One of the suspects fired several shots as he ran from the scene. One of the shots damaged an unoccupied apartment at 616 W. 14th Street and another shot damaged an unoccupied vehicle.

The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
